Sales Manager, Manchester (hybrid working), £45k base/£65k OTE + benefits

My client is an innovative, dynamic and growing tech company (recent winner of the South Coast Tech Company of the Year Award!) which operates across the UK and in the US, and soon to be South Africa too, and they now have the opportunity for an experienced Sales Manager to help with their continuing expansion by managing a sales team in Manchester (Salford).

Reporting into the Sales Director you will contribute to the commercial strategy to ensure that business targets are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage a team, prioritising workloads and ensuring results are delivered
  • Lead by example – you will carry your own personal sales target as well as a team target to achieve each month
  • Producing and executing development plans for each team member and providing support and performance feedback as required
  • Provide leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth
  • Coaching and training individuals to perform at the highest level
  • Ensure that sales activity is in line with the commercial strategy in order to meet business objectives and targets
  • Continually review individuals’ progress towards sales targets and KPIs, providing support where members of the team are not exceeding targets
  • Produce a monthly report, focusing on, but not limited to, activity within the month, as well as showing progress towards targets and KPIs

Essential Requirements

  • Proven leadership and the ability to drive a sales team in a B2B environment
  • Experience in coaching individuals and managing under-performance
  • Understanding sales pipelines and how to develop from prospecting to sale and beyond
  • Effective planning and organisational skills – able to juggle, prioritise and manage
  • A self-starter, who thrives under pressure to achieve challenging goals
  • Able to build and maintain internal and external relationships
  • Proven track record in managing and directing a highly skilled, motivated, successful and results orientated sales team
  • Ability to create a strong team spirit: showing the way, supporting your team, and enjoying collective as much as personal achievement
  • Adaptable selling and negotiating skills to win business and develop your team to do the same
  • A background in B2B sales management within the job board, advertising or recruitment sales industry would be an advantage
