Aftermarket Solutions Specialist, Frimley GU16, £35k to £43k DOE + full benefits + on site parking

My client is a leading manufacturer of heavy materials handling equipment. An opportunity has arisen within the Aftermarket Team for an Aftermarket Solutions Specialist, reporting to the Team Leader, Aftermarket Solutions.

The Aftermarket Solutions team is responsible for developing, launching and maintaining aftermarket product/market propositions, resulting in increased sales and margin of service parts, consumables, accessories and other associated aftermarket products through the dealer network.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Assuming product management responsibility for a selection of focus commodities (e.g. replacement truck parts, wheels, tyres, etc.).
  • Researching, analysing and evaluating new product opportunities for potential inclusion to sales offering, including their financial impact. (Some of the commodity sectors are worth c.£40m per year.)
  • Developing and maintaining a marketing improvement programme.
  • Providing Commercial Aftermarket Managers (CAMs) with all necessary, and often bespoke, support to maximize sales in their individual territories.

Experience/Education/Skills/Aptitude requirements:

  • Business-related degree or significant field experience with on-the-job training.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a commercial environment in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of some kind of capital goods market would be highly beneficial.
  • Good product conception, and how to market that product; business management skills; project management ability; and general commercial awareness, are key to this role.
  • An innovative and creative flair for product development but with a commercially aligned and common sense approach.
  • Solid research skills and a desire to look outside the box for new solutions.
  • Good IT skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with Brand Managers and wider marketing team members to deliver high quality events and materials for events.
  • A dynamic self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and in a self-directed manner, and a desire to truly take ownership of your area and develop “subject matter expert” status within it.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Flexibility to be able to travel within Europe regularly.
  • Knowledge of another European language would be advantageous.
